A senior mobile official at Microsoft Corp. this week announced that he will leave the software giant to start his own company.
The corporate vice president of the Mobile Devices Marketing Group, Juha Christensen joined Microsoft four years ago.
A spokeswoman for Microsoft in Redmond, Wash. said Christensen will move to the San Francisco Bay area, where the startup is located. The spokeswoman declined to give the name of the company, which will focus on Web services for mobile devices.
Christensen was not available for comment.
“Juha has done great work creating business momentum for our mobile devices division,” said a Microsoft statement released on Thursday. “Were sorry to see him go, but are looking for to opportunities to partner with him on his new ventures.”
