Ericsson Enterprise is rolling out an IP desktop gateway that allows small businesses and branch offices to migrate to IP telephony without tossing out an existing PBX system and investing in a brand-new top-to-bottom IP network.
WebSwitch 100 G4 is a four-port gateway that can be added to an installed PBX, enabling it to support wireless LAN handsets, wired IP phones and other IP terminals. Users can take advantage of all the PBXs features and services, such as voice mail.
Ericsson Enterprise, of Menlo Park, Calif.—a division of Ericsson Mobile Communications AB—is touting the product as the most affordable, scalable solution for companies that want to get into IP telephony and give employees more mobility. The IP desktop gateway also helps remote users, such as telecommuters, gain access to the companys PBX via a single IP connection.
WebSwitch 100 G4 is available now at a suggested list price of $1,595.
