At its annual TUCON user conference April 11 to 13 in Orlando, Fla., TIBCO Software launched new software that integrates process modeling, management and simulation to help business users better interoperate with IT.
The TIBCO Business Studio, announced April 13, is part of the integration companys role-design technology software that is geared toward business users.
Its essentially a unified Eclipse-based environment that integrates three key components of developing and utilizing business process-based functionality.
By integrating modeling, management and simulation capabilities, the idea is that business users will be better able to collaborate with IT folks that actually implement process models.
In addition to providing guided modeling and simulation capabilities, the Business Studio software allows business users to define processes that involve human and system interaction—a purchase order that needs to be approved, for example, before a procure-to-pay process can be executed.
At the same time, by enabling both human and system interaction, IT has a better shot at linking services within a services-based architecture, officials said.
The Business Studio suite is available now.
