For teams looking to fulfill their New Years resolution to better execute on goals, Performance Solutions Technologys MPro-Web hosted solution does a good job of giving teams a way to organize goals and tasks.
Priced at $450 per user per year and updated in December, MPro-Web 3.0 is relatively expensive. As a point of comparison, some hosted group collaboration services, such as Intranet.coms namesake service, cost about $10 per user per month, although many of these services focus more on project and task management than on goals and task management. During tests, MPro-Web did a good job of managing team and personal goals as well as attendant tasks.
MPro-Webs ability to create subtasks and add custom fields, such as budgeting details, make it useful for organizing and categorizing broad goals and individual tasks.
From an ease-of-use and convenience perspective, the MPro-Web interface makes it easy to update and reassign tasks as well as organize important items in a favorites view. In addition to a tree-based view of goals, tasks and subtasks, the service supports calendar and Gantt views of data.
Most actions are accessible by right-clicking the mouse, and the service can sync with Outlook. The downside is that the service supports only Internet Explorer 5.5 or later, and using these features required me to make the MPro-Web domain a trusted site in IE. Some users may need to make some tweaks in IEs cache settings as well. Although I found performance acceptable without increasing cache size, the service took a pregnant pause when I moved between some features. For more information, go to www.managepro.com.
