Broadcom has incorporated an early version of the 802.11e quality-of-service technology into its wireless products, increasing the average data throughput in 802.11 networks.
Broadcoms technology, which it calls “Xpress,” uses a technology called “frame bursting,” defined in a draft version of the 802.11e specification, according to Jeff Abramowitz, senior director of marketing for Broadcoms home and wireless networking business unit.
