OQO Inc. unveiled Tuesday an updated version of its ultraportable pocket PC, the Model 01+.
OQO has upgraded its Model 01 Windows XP minicomputer to include specs and accessories that werent available in the original model, according to a recent press release.
“With this release we wanted to address a significant number of customer requests that came in, specifically in terms of additional RAM, USB and larger hard drives,” said Elizabeth Bastiaanse, vice president of marketing at OQO. “Weve also included a number of smaller features, like support for screen rotation and enhanced digitizer, to add to and improve upon the overall user experience.”
OQOs Model 01+ incorporates all of its predecessors features (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, 5-inch VGA transflective display, QWERTY thumb keyboard, etc.) and then some, into the same 4.9-by-3.4-by-0.9-inch package, which weighs in at 14 ounces.
The specs for OQOs newest pocketable PC include increased RAM (512MB) and hard drive capacity (30GB), as well as Firewire and USB 2.0 ports. In addition, the mini-PC boasts an integrated internal speaker, an ambient light sensor and support for network boot and screen rotation, according to Bastiaanse.
