Come get your free storage — again.
Pro Softnet a few days ago introduced a beta version of iDriveSync, a cloud storage service that can sync up to five PCs and share functionality as many as 50 PCs. iDriveSync is now competing with more established services such as DropBox, Box.net, SugarSync, Mozy and Carbonite. Likewise, it provides unlimited sync storage for $4.95 per month.
Sync storage is an automatic file backup to the cloud when the computer is not in use, or in the background when it is being used. This feature scans the computer for new files and adds them to the cloud backup. No human involvement needed.
iDriveSync is a feature that runs on Softnet’s iDrive Online Backup service cloud. iDrive provides backup not only for PCs but also Macs and smart mobile devices, such as iPhones, Android phones, iPads, Samsung Galaxys and BlackBerrys.
Now Pro Softnet is enticing new customers by offering 5GB of free online storage capacity, knowing that it is likely to be consumed very fast and that the user of the free service will undoubtedly want more, and soon.
We are all addicted to storage capacity. Those 1TB drives you can buy for $99? Huh. They’ll be filled before you know it.
Unlimited is a good selling point for cloud storage.
