Less frustration
Tired of waiting for your DSL technician to show up? Covad Communications Group Inc. now offers a self-installation kit to eliminate the hassles typically associated with signing up for digital subscriber line services.
Three steps
The DSL JumpStart Install Kit spells out three steps users can take that will enable them to prepare a home office for DSL: Attach DSL blockers to telephones, connect a DSL modem to a computer and install software to connect to the Internet. According to the Santa Clara, Calif., DSL provider, the process should take about 30 minutes.
How to get it
The kit is available through Speakeasy Network (www.speakeasy.net), one of Covad?s affiliated ISPs (Internet service providers). Additional affiliates are slated to offer it within the next few weeks. Once an order is placed and approved through an affiliated ISP, the kit is shipped within about 10 days.
