SYSTEM INTEGRATION
PSA provider optimize Solutions this week will lift the lid on a well-kept secret—its Optimize Pro tool.
The 2-year-old company, operating in stealth mode, will formally unveil Version 4.0 of its browser-based tool. The Windows 2000-based tool, which can also run on Unix, can help to streamline project development for both systems integrators and enterprise IT users.
Optimize Pro, which integrates with familiar Windows-based applications, is unique in its ease of deployment, said Terence Craig, co-founder of the San Mateo, Calif., software provider.
“Nobody else in the PSA [Professional Services Automation] industry can get a system running as fast as we can,” Craig said.
The PSA software can be deployed within 30 days, he said.
The PSA software also removes the administrative overhead that prevents users from managing their own applications. While IT operators set up and maintain servers and databases, users can handle their own configuration issues, officials said.
The tool, priced at about $1,500 per seat, comprises modules for opportunity management, financial management and collaborative document management; a project management module that can integrate with Microsoft Corp.s Project; and knowledge management and resource management modules.
