Broadcom Corp. last week announced its first two-chip VOIP chipset. The BCM1160 VOIP chip connects to WLANs via the companys existing BCM4318 AirForce One 54g part. The BCM1160, based on an ARM9 core, includes an analog voice codec.
The BCM1160 can also connect to Broadcoms Bluetooth chip.
