One of the most profitable subsidiaries of the German conglomerate Siemans AG, Siemans Medical Solutions, was awarded top honors for its health IT products and services. It was selected by Frost & Sullivan for leveraging its dominance in the areas of imaging and diagnostics to create a high-functioning clinical information system.
Siemens Medical Solutions offers products and services that “improve operational efficiencies, optimize workflow across various health care settings and consistently enable customers to realize solid, sustainable clinical and financial outcomes,” commented Frost & Sullivan health care analyst Siddharth Saha.
Frost highlighted a few products in particular that represent why it selected Siemens Medical as the top health IT company for 2004. Sienet, a range of imaging information management systems, is praised as providing patient administrative systems that enable tracking across care delivery, accounts receivables and decision support. Additionally, Frost spotlights the Soarian health care information system as offering clean workflows, smart user interfaces and embedded analytics.
“The Soarian Clinical Access module is designed to provide patient medical records on an anywhere, anytime basis with emphasis on seamless connectivity with diagnostic workstations,” said Saha.
In evaluating companies for this award, Frost & Sullivan analysts considered criteria including “technological innovation and leadership, proof of success in executing a restructured marketing strategy, market growth, new market penetration, innovative business development strategies, competitive strategies, customer service leadership and brand recognition,” according to a company statement.
